When it got the turn of the former Vice President, he shook hands with President Mahama and hugged him as well. But what got social media users talking was the bow the former Vice President gave President Mahama afterwards.

Although it is not uncommon to see Dr. Bawumia bow when greeting others, especially those who outrank him, some social media users took the opportunity to poke fun as him.

Some others were also quick to defend him and point out his humility and respect for others.

@iamogidigidi – Personally I like Bawumia but he found himself within criminals and they’ve damaged his reputation. It will take the next generation to bring him back to power.

@_GhanaPrince – But seriously, we need to investigate those 38 % who voted for the NPP despite the arrogance & the impunity.

@GHDeservesBest – he will break his spinal cord.

@soulcowry23 – He now dey see the level…mahama told him ” l know my level” yet he refused to listen.

@alvinmcmern – eeii Ghana Sweet oo. 38.2 degrees

@blanko66666666 – If Mahama is not careful this guy will joke his way to presidency

@eakosahy1964 – Bowing to greet is a sign of showing respect and humility. This is the case in many cultures globally. Those who are against Bawumiah doing this have missed it. For me, Bawumiah is a symbol of Humility and Respect; he bows to anyone he deems greater than him.
