Minority Leader of Parliament Afenyo Markin has sent a message to President John Mahama to appoint his minister at a go.
According to Afenyo Markin, this tot tot appointment from John Mahama is unacceptable when in opposition they told Ghanaians they were ready for government.
His comments in parliament come after John Mahama announced three key ministerial appointments.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has been named the finance minister-designate, John Abdulai Jinapor has been named the energy minister-designate, and Dominic Akuritinga Ayine Attorney General.
Speaking on the floor of parliament the minority leader stated, “When the names were read out, by the minister speaker, he read out only three names the finance minister designated, the energy minister designated, and the Attorney General and Minister of Justice designated”.
“Mr. Speaker, this tot tot appointment is unacceptable, this is a government, that promised a 24-hour economy, in opposition they told us that they were ready for government”, he added.
He further stated the Mahama promised a 24-hour economy, so he expected them to be ready from day one.
“This government promised an 24-hour economy, we expect them to be ready from day one, you cannot start energy, finance and attorney general where are the rest of the ministers you must be ready, we want to hear Armah Kofi Buah, we want to hear Agric ministry Hon. Eric Opoku, we want to hear roads and highways, we wants to hear lands and natural resources, we want to hear education”, he boldly stated.
