A Ghanaian social media user identified as Twumasi says some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are making the party unattractive to the youth.
He named Minority leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin (MP) and Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh (MP) as key figures in the party ruining its reputation the most.
According to him, the actions of these people will cause the party to stay in opposition for an extensive period of time, setting a record in the process.
In a post on X, Twumasi wrote, “NPP minority is making the party even less attractive to the ordinary Ghanaian. The likes of Annoh Dompreh and Afenyo Markin will make the party stay in opposition forever.”
The duo have been criticized by some section of the Ghanaian public for their conduct in parliament, and especially at the ongoing vetting of appointed ministers.
Just today, January 28, 2025 Frank Annoh-Dompreh was in a heated confrontation with the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission, Emeafa Hardcastle.
The confrontation started after Emeafa described the minority in parliament as a “micro minority,” an expression which did not sit well with Annoh-Dompreh, who threatened to take her on.
This turned into a full blown confrontation until both of them were whisked away.
