Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central, Murtala Mohammed has called for an investigation into the daughters of outgoing President Akufo-Addo.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo government has indeed being rife with incidents and corruption and he wishes investigations into the outgoing government should begin with the President’s daughters.
“If there are people to be investigated, I think it should be the daughters of the President,” he stated.
The Akufo-Addo daughters have been embroiled in a series of scandals ever since their father became President.
Edwina Akufo-Addo one of the President’s daughters is said to be occupying public lands, transferred to her by her father.
According to allegations by MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Edwina is occupying prime cantonments state lands and using it to run her business.
Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, another daughter of the president is said to have mismanaged state funds as a board member of the nation’s Creative Arts Council.
Some Ghanaians also want her to be investigated in connection with the procurement of ambulances and some spare parts for the state.
Aside form the daughters of the President, numerous other family members have been cited for various corrupt practices, but no evidence to hold them accountable for their actions have emerged.
