65-year-Old Alhaji Yakubu Ayaana receives car and cash after 250 km Walk

65-year-old, businessman and philanthropist from Tamale, Alhaji Yakubu Ayaana has received a car and an undisclosed amount of money in recognition of his extraordinary effort to celebrate President John Dramani Mahama.

The elder statesman embarked on a challenging 250-kilometer journey on foot from Kumasi to Accra to show his loyalty and support for the President-elect following his victory in the 2024 presidential elections.

Alhaji Ayaana began his journey on January 5, 2025, after traveling to Kumasi by vehicle. Determined to reach Accra in time for the swearing-in ceremony on January 7, 2025, he walked over rough terrains and endured long hours under the sun, draped in the Ghanaian flag as a symbol of patriotism and unity.

Videos of him walking, accompanied by an ambulance for emergencies, went viral on social media, sparking admiration and criticism alike.
