50 thugs beat up Police, 3 Community Police officers ‘wototwoto’

About 50 thugs have beaten up a police constable and three Community Assistance Police (CAP) officers.

According to reports the incident happened, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Akrofuom.

The information gathered suggests the police constable and three Community Assistance Police within the Obuasi Divisional Police Command attempted to arrest a suspect, Sibuba.

The suspect is said to have threatened to cause harm to a complainant.

Reports suggest the thugs about 50 of them wielding various weapons beat up the security officers and seized the police constable’s AK47.

The beaten security officers have been identified as G/Constable Solomon Okyere, Emmanuel Arhin, Alfred Danso, and Frank Owusu Afriyie.

Reports further suggested the victims were later abandoned in a bush and left for dead.

The four beaten security officers have been transported to the Obuasi Government Hospital and have since been released from the hospital after treatment.
