Some fifteen (15) individuals suspected to be land guards have been arrested at Trade Fair for the unauthorized demolition of some private properties.
The 15 as part of a group of 35 on Friday, January 24, 2025 stormed the Trade Fair area to demolish four (4) uncompleted storey buildings belonging to one Benjamin Amuzu and other private properties.
The police was alerted over this illegality and managed to arrest 15 of the 35.
According to sources, Benjamin Amuzu had been facing disturbances from these young men who claimed the land belonged to them, he however told them off, saying he had bought the land legally.
The case was contended in court, where the judge inspected all documents and deemed them valid, ruling the land belonged to Benjamin Amuzu.
Regardless of the ruling, the young men did not back off and kept terrorizing Benjamin Amuzu, eventually destroying his structures.
People living in and around the Trade Fair area have complained severally over being terrorized by land guards. Their cries have however gone unheard.
They have once again called on the authorities to quickly intervene and bring an end to land guard issues in the area.
