A young man identified as Stephen Kwaku Oteng has reportedly relocated to a nearby bush.
The information gathered suggests the young man lost his uncle GH¢3000 to sports betting over the fear of facing his uncle’s wrath he relocated to the bush.
Confessing the incident, he stated he borrowed the money from a nearby mobile money vendor.
Speaking on Crime Check Ghana, the young man cried out, “I have committed a crime, and I don’t know what to do at home and I have run away to the bush.
“My Uncle asked a woman to run a mobile money business and on Saturday I told the woman that she should send me 3000 and I will return it to her later”, he added.
The young man further detailed how he spent the 3000 cedis, saying “When I took the money, I went to make a deposit in a bet account, I bet on 20 teams and I lost, I used some for-football bet, and some for aviator. I bet 500 cedis, and 1000 cedis it was two teams, Arsenal and Aston Villa, all the two teams lost”.
“The Aviator I lost 1,300, I am afraid of my uncle when gets annoyed, the bush is scary small, I am uneasy I even want to hurt myself, I even took a knife from a woman to try to kill myself”, he added.
