Afenyo-Markin, the majority leader of parliament, has quizzed about the source of funding of Mahama’s anti-corruption committee.
The Transition Team of President-elect John Dramani Mahama today December 18, 2024, unveiled a preparatory team to drive his anti-corruption agenda.
Spokesperson Felix Kwakye of John Mahama’s transition team in a statement disclosed the information.
The move follows John Mahama’s promise to Ghanaians of Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL), the initiative seeks to track down and retrieve all state assets looted under the Akufo-Addo Bawumia government to develop the country.
The team has been tasked with laying the groundwork for what Mahama Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).
According to Afenyo-Markin, the work of the committee will require significant funding, and it is important to know the source of the funds.
Speaking on JOY FM Super Morning Show he detailed, “Nobody should have to ask Ablakwa how the committee’s work is going to be funded. If a private individual is funding it, they are talking about corruption; we need to know who is funding it”.
“Whose money are they going to use to buy fuel? Whose money will they use to set up an office?”, he added
Meanwhile, the team includes Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa – Chairman, Mr. Daniel Domelevo – Former Auditor-General, COP (Rtd.) Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, Mr. Martin Kpebu – Private Legal Practitioner, and Mr. Raymond Archer – Investigative Journalist.
