Chelsea defender, Wesley Fofana suffered a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s 3:0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday.
The player limped off 59 minutes into the game at Stamford Bridge and will be out of action during the busy Christmas period.
Wesley Fofana’s first two years of joining Chelsea was dominated by a series of injuries which affected his contribution to the team.
“It’s a big loss for us because he is doing fantastic,” Enzo Maresca said.
While Enzo Maresca has confirmed the injury and deems it severe, Fofana says otherwise.
In a post on Instagram, the player claimed the injury is only a “slight muscle warning” that happens after long injuries.
“Nothing serious, the body is adjusting. We’ll come back stronger, as always. Trust your guy!” portions of his post read.
