The Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Crux Global, Ike Otoo Arhin says the creative arts players will mount intense pressure on elected Members of Parliament (MP) from the creative arts industry to make sure the industry receives the need attention and growth.
According to him, successive governments have paid little to no attention to the development of the country’s creative arts scene, an industry he considers pivotal in nation development.
“We are not going to let them sleep. We need to mount pressure on the incoming MPs and let them understand that we creatives are on fire,” he said in an Accra based radio station monitored by yawanews.com
The December 7, 2024 general elections saw six persons from the creative arts scene being elected to office.
The six include; veteran actress and producer-Dzifa Gomashie, musician- A Plus, actor-John Dumelo, founder of 3 Music Awards-Baba Sadiq, CEO of Salt Media Group-Ohene Kwame Frimpong and actress Ebi Bright.
With the election of these six into office, some members of the creative fraternity are optimistic of their voices been heard and the industry enjoying unprecedented levels of development.
However, after his election as MP for Gomoa Central, A Plus advised the creative fraternity to fight their own battles as he is only going to parliament to serve the interest of Gomoa Central and not creatives.
