Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has issued a stern warning to his colleague, Bryan Acheampong, over recent comments regarding the upcoming December 7 elections.
Speaking at a rally in the Eastern Region on November 23, 2024, Acheampong, who is the MP for Abetifi and Minister for Food and Agriculture, declared that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had implemented measures to secure victory in the polls.
He further warned against any interference, stating that the Eastern Region was “under lockdown.”
Acheampong’s remarks have sparked controversy, with many interpreting them as a threat aimed at the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Responding at the NDC’s final regional rally in Hohoe, Agbodza condemned the statements, emphasizing that the NDC would not be intimidated.
“We will stand up to Bryan Acheampong and the NPP if they attempt to undermine the will of the people,” Agbodza declared.
