Special Aide to Ghana’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari has revealed the new NDC administration intends to deliver 30% more additional female appointments.
According to Joyce Bawa, the Nomination of Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang is a testament to the NDC’s commitment towards women and women empowerment and equality.
Her comments come after some Ghanaians have criticized the lack of a female representation on John Mahama’s Oral team.
She wrote on X, “ Dear Ghana, we have every intention to make sure that Women participate actively at all decision making levels”.
“The Nomination of Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang is testament to our commitment towards women and women empowerment and equality. Remember that this ticket led by John Mahama is the most progressive and inclusive ticket ever for a major political party and we intend to deliver on 30% more additional female appointments”, she added.
Joyce Bawa further added, “We have a strong reason to support and celebrate the NDC for giving Ghana her very first Female Vice President Elect. That for me is the singular most powerful statement yet, that Women can”.
