Political Scientist, Professor Ransford Gyampo, has described the President Akufo-Addo government as the worst performing in Ghana’s history.
He intimated that President Akufo-Addo refused to listen to the concerns of the Ghanaian people doing what he wanted regardless of the constant criticism and complains from Ghanaians.
“Now when we say he (Akufo-Addo) is the worst president of Ghana’s fourth republic, I believe now he will know, he will appreciate it. It is not too harsh to say that as the research has proved it,” he said.
Professor Gyampo added that taking a look at all the indicators and juxtaposing them to other governments, “We are saying that Akufo-Addo’s govt is the worst of all the governments we’ve ever had since 1992.”
With the NPP’s mantra of Breaking the 8 ahead of the elections despite the party’s poor performance, Professor Gyampo described that attitude as being reflective of the party’s pride, arrogance and impunity.
“The party (NPP) was concerned with breaking the 8 rather than resolving the issues of the people, the hardship, depreciation, poverty, fuel prices hikes.”
“This gov’t never listened to public opinion,” he emphasized. “You see, we had a dead goat in Mahama but we had a deader goat in Akufo-Addo. The difference is Mahama spoke about it but Akufo Addo didn’t.”
