Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso Central, Henry Quartey was spotted confidently boasting he had already won the seat prior to the closing of the December 7, 2024 polls.
In an interview prior to the elections, the MP indicated that he had already won the election in the realm of the spirit.
“Everybody when they go to elections is confident that they will win. But as for me I know that by the grace of God I have already won.”
He noted that the opposition’s candidate, Abdul Rauf Tubazu of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is confident of winning the seat, “but as for me God in heaven has communicated the victory for me so it is done.”
When asked if he was confident of winning, he arrogantly stated, “I am not confident I am saying that God made me win already.”
The Minister of the Interior, Henry Quartey, has lost the Ayawaso Central seat to Abdul Rauf Tubazu of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Quartey of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had 23,339, while Abdul Tubazu won with 29,965
