The luxurious wedding video of Gifty Oware-Mensah, the deputy executive of the National Service Scheme has surfaced on social media.
The viral video surfaced amidst a fresh expose that alleged that there are over 40,000 ghost names in the books of the National Service Secretariat (NSS).
A netizen dropping the video wrote, “ Multi-million dollar wedding with NSS 40,000+ ghost names sika including 82-year-old grandpa who did his National service in 2022 😹😹😹😹😹”
According to the information circulating on social media, the National Service Secretariat (NSS) is embroiled in a corruption scandal that have shocked Ghanaians two days before the major elections.
The leaked information on social media also alleged that Gifty Oware-Aboagye oversaw the payment of these allowances into the accounts of the 40,000 ghost service personnel.
The reports suggest data of active NSS personnel have been inflated by 40,000 names. It is reported that the 40,000 ghost names are said to be working in state institutions and paid an allowance of GHS 715 a month and have been allegedly perpetuated for some 36 months.
More revelation reveals that the allowances for these 40,000 ghost names were disbursed without delay to the accounts of their while, actual NSS personnel who have been working hard for months had their allowances delayed for months.
Doing a little math calculation the people or the syndicate involved in the NSS scandal received the allowances on behalf of these 40,000 ghost individuals making a whooping GHS343m per year for 3 years.
