CCTV footage has surfaced with some unidentified armed thugs invading Beyeeman Cold Store in Agbogbloshie, Accra.
According to reports Beyeeman Cold Store is a family business managed by Nana Fredua Ofori-Atta since the late 1960s.
The unidentified armed thugs were demanding to see Nana Fredua Ofori-Atta but were informed he was not in the office.
It is common in Ghana to find party supporters taking over public offices usually when there’s a change in government after a general election.
In the CCTV footage, some people heard saying the thugs thought the cold store was a state property so they were coming to loot it.
All over the country, there have been reports of thugs invading government institutions after the NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, conceded defeat.
Meanwhile, the national communications officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has called on party supporters to exercise restraint and avoid attacking state institutions in the wake of the party’s recent victory.
“There is no need to tarnish the victory by attacking and invading state institutions. There is no need to attack government institutions or vandalise any public property; there is no need for that,” Gyamfi stated.
