Emelia Arthur won the Shama seat with 23,043 votes, while Isaac Kwamena Afful polled 17,082 votes.

It is alleged that Isaac Kwamena Afful spent all of his money on the elections, an allegation which is yet to be confirmed.

Issac Kwamina Afful prior to joining mainstream politics was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Lower Pra Rural Bank.

He beat the incumbent MP for Shama, Ericson Abakah and former Shama District Chief Executive, Joseph Amoah to become parliamentary candidate.
