Some female nursing students have taken to social media to campaign for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The students can be heard answering the question “NPP or NDC?” The question which was asked to about 5 of the ladies emanated the same answer, “delayed allowance is better than cancelled allowance.”
Their answers fall in line with what the NPP presidential and vice presidential candidate have been telling nursing students whenever they campaigned in their schools.
Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the vice presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), reassured trainee nurses during a campaign at the Korle-Bu Nursing and Midwifery Training College in October that the government is working diligently to prevent delays in the payment of their allowances.
He indicated the NPP’s commitment to restoring and maintaining the allowances, which were previously cancelled by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Dr Prempeh acknowledged that occasional delays in payments may occur but emphasized that these delays are far better than the complete removal of the allowances, as experienced under the NDC.
“There may be delays, but allowances delayed are better than allowances cancelled,” Dr. Prempeh noted.
The answers of the nursing students goes to prove that they will rather vote for the NPP over the NDC.
The ladies ended their video by saying in unison, “we would go for free SHS over chicks. It is possible.”
