Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia nearly missed his way at the Manhyia Palace, home of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II
In a video which has since gone viral, Dr. Bawumia and his entourage, include Vice Presidential candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh had visited Manhyia Palace and was supposedly going to meet the Asantehene.
In the video, Dr. Bawumia could be seen walking briskly as they were met with ‘fans’ from some of their party’s supporters.
Dr. Bawumia managed the acknowledged these chants and share greetings with them.
However, when they go to a point where they were supposed to turn to their left, Dr. Bawumia kept walking straight ahead, following the lead of one of his security escorts until he was redirected.
From the video, you can hear some people who know the Manhyia Palace very well saying, “Massa it is here” indicating to the security excort that they were supposed to make a left turn.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, a royal of the Ashanti kingdom and a frequent visitor to the palace also called on Dr. Bawumia and pointed him in the right direction.
