Some armed men have besieged the offices of Ghana Gas Company.
According to the reports, the armed men stormed the premises on Tuesday, December 10 at the Airport Residential area in Accra.
In a video by Metro TV, the armed men were captured attempting to forcibly open the main gate to the premises.
Their action comes despite the call made to supporters of the NDC by the National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi.
Sammy Gyamfi has called on party supporters to exercise restraint and avoid attacking state institutions in the wake of the party’s recent victory.
“There is no need to tarnish the victory by attacking and invading state institutions. There is no need to attack government institutions or vandalize any public property; there is no need for that,” Gyamfi stated.
There have been reports of mobs of alleged NDC supporters storming the premises of multiple state institutions including the Ghana Ports and Harbor Authority, Forestry Commission, Metro Mass Transit, NADMO offices, and now Ghana Gas following the NDC winning the 2024 elections.
In Ghana, it has become a common canker to find party supporters taking over public offices usually when there’s a change in government after a general election.
