University of Cape Coast graduation turns into NDC party

The University of Cape Coast’s (UCC) annual graduation ceremony took an unexpected political turn this year.

In a viral video on social media, the batch of students who were graduating were seen happily chanting in their graduation gowns the popular National Democratic Congress (NDC) slogan ‘3y3 Zu’.

The video, has sparked a lot of debate on social media and although their reason for the chant is unknown, it explains and shows how happy and excited Ghanaians are about the new government NDC and president- elect, John Drama Mahama.

It also goes on to tell how much Ghanaians have anticipated the victory of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, was declared the winner by the Electoral Commission (EC) on December 9, 2024 after the general elections on 7th December.

He gathered 56.55% of the valid votes, amounting to 6,328,397 votes, defeating his main opponent, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who got 41.61% of the votes.

Mahama is set to officially assume office on January 7, 2025 after he’s sworn into office.
