According to the Basintale boy as referred to by the NDC flagbearer, many trainee nurses today are selling rings, slippers, and sobolo.

Speaking to some trainee nurses on a campaign platform Malik Basintale stated, “We are ready for our future, we are ready to get jobs, and we are ready to get good salaries, today many nursing trainees have become online marketers, you are either selling rings, slippers including selling sobolo, that is not your portion”.

“That is not your portion, your portion is to work in a hospital, next year we will post all those who complete into the hospitals to work for Mother Ghana. That is all we ask for is that not it, we don’t ask the government for too much, just give me a job let me work, and make mamma proud, let me make Dadda proud, our time is coming”, he boldly stated.

Malik Basintale added, “We are ready for the elections, and I can assure you that we will protect your votes in the day in the night, and forever and ever. God almighty is with us, so no one can stand against us, the one God has blessed, Dramani Mahama”.

Many of the unemployed nurses and midwives have been forced to seek alternative job opportunities due to the delay in their postings.

The Ministry of Health announced on July 25, 2024, that 15,200 Financial Clearances would be issued, to cover the 2020 batch and part of the 2021 batch.

However, members of the 2020 batch have been unable to access the portal to receive their clearances, which has since been closed.
