The retained member of parliament for Tamale Central on the ticket of the NDC Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed has said those who plundered the resources of this country must be held accountable.
According to Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, he expects to see prosecution from the next NDC government after January 7.
Speaking to the media after he was declared winner in the parliamentary elections, he stated, “As to what this government will do, President Mahama has demonstrated beyond any doubt that he is the with the vision, very humble, he wants to rest this country, the corruption the outright thievery that the people of this country have been subjected to by this incompetent government”.
“They ought to be stopped, and the people of this country have demonstrated their willingness and preparedness to stop them”, he added.
Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed further detailed, “I expect to see some prosecution, all those who plundered the resources of this country ought to account for what they have done, governance is not an opportunity to steal, and political leadership is not an opportunity to rob the state, it is an opportunity to serve, all those who have the opportunity and plundered the resources of this country into the state in which we are oath to face the full rigorous of the law”.
He further went on to thank the NPP supporters who voted for him in the parliamentary elections and assured them of the reasons they decided to vote for him he appreciated and will continue the work he has been doing.
