Ace Broadcast Journalist Bridget Otoo has reacted to comments made by the member of parliament for Tamale South Hon Haruna Iddrisu on the Electoral Commission Chairperson Jean Adukwei Mensa.

According to the former minority leader, the EC chairperson does not determine who rules Ghana, but Ghanaians are the ones who determine who rules them.

Haruna Iddrisu asserted that the former EC chairperson Charlotte Osei was sacked from her position as EC chair based on procurement breaches and that if Jean Mensa also had the same procurement issues that may define her future as the EC chairperson.

Speaking on TV3, Haruna Iddrisu stated, “Charlotte Osei was chairperson of the Electoral Commission. They had issues with her because of something, procurement, and if Jean Mensa has procurement issues, that may define her future I don’t know”.

“Why will you change an electoral commission, Chairperson, these are not matters of primary concern to President Mahama, I am begging you no, where Jean Mensa is”, he added.

The member of parliament further stated emphatically, “Jean Mensa doesn’t determine who rules Ghana, Ghanaians determine who rules them”.

Reacting to the member of parliament statement, Bridget Otoo wrote on X, “They say the response is strategy. Okay”.

Meanwhile, Jean Mensa is seriously under pressure after the NPP lost the general elections with many Ghanaians calling on her to resign.
