The defeated presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has comforted NPP supporters.
According to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, there is more life ahead so the NPP supporters should relax.
Speaking in a viral video on TikTok Dr. Bawumia stated, “There is more life ahead, just relax, to take on very much”.
Dr Bawumia speaking to Ghanaians on Sunday, December 8, detailed, “We will not be destructive opposition even though we will subject the next government to strict scrutiny. We will regroup and come back stronger”.
“Let me say the data indicate former president Mahama has won the presidential election decisively. The NDC has also won the parliamentary elections even though we await the final collation of seats”, he boldly stated.
Dr. Bawumia added, “I just called HE John Mahama to congratulate you.”
Meanwhile, the EC’s certified results, Mahama secured 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total valid votes cast. His closest contender, Dr. Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), garnered 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61%.
Other candidates, including Nana Kwame Bediako, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, and Akua Donkor, collectively accounted for the remaining votes. Bediako secured 84,478 votes, representing 0.75%.
