Mike Ocquaye Jr. the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Dome Kwabenya has stated the video claiming he conceded defeat to NDC’s Elikplim Akurugu is misleading.
According to Mike Ocquaye Jr., the video in circulation was actually recorded back in 2020 after he conceded defeat in the NPP parliamentary primaries.
Speaking to the media, he clarified saying, “One of the funny things some people have been circulating, in 2020 I had my primaries and I came out and said if I have lost better luck next time, I am that kind of democrat ones we know the conclusive results we are fine”.
“They went and circulated me with face mask, that was in Corona 2020, that is not me conceding, let us be fair, and play by the rules”, he stated.
He further detailed, “You cannot go and sit in your room and collate figures, we were told specifically by the director of elections in Dome Kwabenya, the boss of the returning officers who announced it because the place was unsafe, I am sure you saw on TV, thugs getting on some people backs entering the place”.
“Going to create mayhem, and the EC suspended it and said, all party will meet at the region the next day, how can it be when the EC official, intends to take his papers he is forced by the mob to collate?”, he added.
Mike Ocquaye Jr. further revealed that 11 pink sheets have been duplicated.
He added, “As we stand now there are 11 pink sheets that have a problem, we hear that there are some duplicates that have been brought, we don’t have a problem, just meet us, let us sit down and inspect the duplicate if we accept it we accept it”.
