The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has criticized Alexander Afenyo-Markin, describing his comments on democracy and the rule of law as misplaced.

He noted that Afenyo-Markin, who he referred to as his “junior brother,” rejected the position of a Minority Leader but is now on his way to becoming a “micro Minority Leader.”

Asiedu Nketiah dismissed Afenyo-Markin’s claims about belonging to a party committed to the rule of law, questioning the credibility of such assertions.

Addressing the press on Friday, December 13, he stated that the NDC does not require lectures on democracy from Afenyo-Markin or his party, given their track record.

He argued that if there was any need for lessons on impunity, Afenyo-Markin would be a suitable candidate to lead as a lecturer on the subject.

“We in the National Democratic Congress, don’t need lectures from Afenyo-Markin about democracy at all. Indeed, if there were any need for lectures in impunity, then we will invite him as  our lecturer, but if it’s about democracy he must shut up,” he asserted.

He further advised Afenyo-Markin to refrain from making comments on democracy.
