The deputy communication officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Malik Basintale has said the landslide victory is a sign that Bawumia is not fit to lead the country.
According to Malik Basintale, the NDC wanted to end the political career of Bawumia so that they know, Bawumia was not fit to lead the country Ghanaians.
Speaking to the media he stated, “ We wanted to end the political career of Bawumia so that they know, Bawumia is not fit to lead the country Ghanaians have given us that power, they didn’t just give us the power, you media men have reported that it is an overwhelming landslide victory, you have declared that, so, the remaining seats of which they want to keep so we don’t get a two-third majority will not work”.
“We are stating on record, that we are here for our seats until we get them, we will not stop, the EC men are passing whether they like it or not, it will be declared for us”, he detailed.
Malik further stated, “If the NPP do not have pink sheets then they should go home, if you don’t have pink sheets, we don’t collate results with pay slips, we collate results with pink sheets”.
“They should go home and give us victory, their Presidential candidate Bawumia has conceded and thrown in the towel by now he is lying beside Samira, so why will they be holding onto power, they are here wasting their time John Mahama is winning the two-thirds majority”, he boldly emphasized.
Meanwhile, the EC’s certified results, Mahama secured 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total valid votes cast. His closest contender, Dr. Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), garnered 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61%.
