Professor Joshua Alabi, the campaign manager for John Dramani Mahama, has said the Electoral Commission under Jean Mensa is trying to re-collate results is funny to him.
According to Joshua Alabi, he has read the L. I have never seen re-collation in the L. I.
He noted that the Electoral Commission in 2020 declared if anyone had any problem with the results already declared should go to court.
Speaking on TV3 he stated, “At the moment we are in some crisis, it has to do with the results, especially with the parliamentary seats where returning officers declare the results, I have read the L. I and I have never seen re-collation in the L. I”.
“The Electoral Commission under Jean Mensa trying to re-collate which is very funny to me, the same Electoral Commission some time ago said in the 2020 election that after the election has been declared if you have any problem you go to the court, so that is double standard it is funny and we shouldn’t tolerate this at all”, he added.
Joshua Alabi further reiterated, “It is a problem after the elections, and this is part of the transitional problems that we have”.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission has suspended the re-collation of the four parliamentary results from the Eastern Region at the National Police Training School at Tesano, following heated disagreements between the two major political parties.
According to the EC, it decided to halt the re-collation to engage with the political parties to ensure transparency and fairness.
