Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Communications Manager for the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia campaign has said the communication around the National Cathedral was wrong.
According to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, if the NPP government had the communication right they wouldn’t have been where they are now.
Speaking in an Interview on News File, he explained, “Communication around such things is very important, I am very sure maybe what government at that time, the Attorney General, and the finance minister who I heard on several occasions driving and leading this project maybe what they should have communicated from the get-go, even though I will be raising funds from private individuals and corporate organizations”.
“We want to start we need to do demolishing, we need to prepare the site, and for this reason government will provide some seed money but that is not what will actually, execute the project, if we had the communication right, we wouldn’t have been where we are at the moment”, he added.
Miracles Aboagye added, “Again, you learn from that because, even from the stage of demolition marking the site, demolition, I don’t think the communication was handled right, and when you do that, you allow your detractors to take advantage and lead the conversation”.
“So, for me, the biggest takeaway from the National Cathedral, is that we allowed people, who obviously are political beneficiaries from whatever fallout of the cathedral to drive the conversation, they come and say Judges are being moved out, then we come and explain”, he explained.
Meanwhile, the National Cathedral project was suspended in 2022 due to financial constraints, it is estimated that the project requires $450 million to complete.
