Ghanaian journalist, Manasseh Azuri has praised the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for conceding defeat in the December 7, 2024 polls.

Dr. Bawumia declared John Dramani Mahama winner of the elections, admitting that “our internal collation proves that John Mahama has won the election.”

Although the Electoral Commission (EC) is yet to declare the results, Dr. Bawumia says the results will not change.

“Mahama has won the presidential race decisively,” he added.

He pledged his full support to John Mahama in the transition process for the business of Ghana to continue smoothly.

Taking to his X page, Manasseh Azuri wrote, “Even before the EC announced the presidential results of the first constituency, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia conceded defeat to calm nerves and curb the rising tension.”

The journalist was impressed with Dr. Bawumia’s appreciation of the media in their role in the election, wining hearts regardless of the defeat.

“Thank you, sir, for this show of maturity and leadership. With this posturing, sanity may return to the NPP soon,” he added.
