Reports on social media allege that members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region are using a yellow device to interfere with the Electoral Commission’s systems and disrupt the voting process.
However, upon closer examination, the device in question appears to be a handheld tally counter, a simple mechanical tool used for manual counting.
According to the X user identified as Nana Kwame, in polling centers across Ashanti, Eastern, Ahafo, Central, and other regions that are likely to vote massively for NPP the NDC agents are using these devices.
He further stated it is a deliberate attempt to frustrate voters in our strongholds.
Another X user under Nana Kwame’s post, however, dismissed the allegations, according to him the device is not an electronic device but rather a tally counter.
The counting of the results has begun across polling stations around the country.
Provisional results from the 2024 general elections have started dripping in, as an early glimpse of the nation’s voting trends.
Several incidents were recorded in various constituencies across the country resulting in several arrests and reported deaths of some individuals.
