Professor Kwesi Aning, the director of the Faculty of Academic Affairs and Research at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre has heaped praises on Ursula Owusu for defending Prof. Jane Naana.
According to Prof. Kwesi Aning, the communication minister Ursula Owusu stood against the wishes of her party to defend Professor Jane Naana.
Prof. Kwesi Aning noted there was a very disgraceful behavior in this country particularly the misogynistic supporters of the NPP when John Mahama decided to maintain Professor Jane Naana Opoku as his running mate.
Speaking on JOYNEWS, Prof. Kwesi Aning stated, “When Mr. Mahama was bold enough to decide on her as his running mate there was a very disgraceful behavior in this country particularly the Misogynistic supporters of the NPP characterized her in all manner of ways, she is a witch, she is this, she that, even Wontumi had the audacity to insult this woman”.
“So tonight let me recognize one person who against the wishes of her party stood up to defend Jane and that was Ursula Owusu, who said yes we may come from a different party tradition but we are women first of foremost and we need to stick together, so Ursula thank you very much for being bold enough to stand by Jane”, he further added.
Meanwhile, as the running mate to the NDC’s John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 presidential elections, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has become Ghana’s first female Vice President in history.
