President Akufo -Addo has expressed deep admiration for the country’s successful election.

According to him, the peaceful elections show the country’s democratic resilience.

“The successful conduct of the presidential and parliamentary elections on 7 December 2024 stands as a testament to the resilience of our democracy”.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional integration’s new edifice in Accra, the president reiterated Ghana’s peaceful electoral process as the foundation of the country’s democratic progress.

He mentioned that, the timely concession of Vice- President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s as a testament to that.

“The peaceful nature of the electoral process and the gracious concession of Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP presidential candidate, are powerful reminders that democracy remains the foundation of our progress and national unity.”

The December 7, 2024 elections although recorded a few incidents was quite peaceful as opposed to the 2016 and 2020 elections which were marred with a number of violence and casualties across parts of the country.
