The deputy communication officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Malik Basintale has said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should go home if they do not have pink sheets.
There is tension at the Greater Accra Regional Collation Center following a disagreement between representatives of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress over the parliamentary results for the Okaikwei Central and Dome Kwabenya constituencies.
Malik Basintale speaking to the media at the Greater Accra Regional Collation Center stated, “If the NPP do not have pink sheets then they should go home, if you don’t have pink sheets, we don’t collate results with pay slips, we collate results with pink sheets”.
“They should go home and give us victory, their Presidential candidate Bawumia has conceded and thrown in the towel by now he is lying beside Samira”, he added.
The information gathered suggests the Okaikwei Central constituency NPP representative cites figures from pink sheets, and insists their candidate has a clear lead. However, the NDC challenges this claim, alleging that some results were tampered with during collation.
While in Dome Kwabenya, the race is between Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, and Michael Aaron Oquaye Jnr. of the NPP, both candidates are locked in a fierce contest, with allegations of irregularities fueling the ongoing chaos.
