Professor Ransford Gyampo, a Political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana has said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) risks disintegrating if the party is not taken from the claws of Akufo-Addo.
Prof. Gyampo noted that Ghana needs a strong opposition to keep the new NDC government on its toes.
According to him, the NPP risks disintegrating if people do not come together to take the party from the claws of Akufo-Addo and his remnants.
He also asserted that all the NPP executives must be kicked out for the party to restore its own tradition.
Speaking on Key Points on TV3 on Saturday, December 14, Prof. Gyampo detailed, “Let me call on the owners of the NPP to rescue the party from the claws of Akufo-Addo and the entire executive of the party”.
“They have to stop the imminent disintegration of the party because we need a strong opposition to keep the government on its toes”, he reiterated.
The professor further stated, “The party risks disintegrating if people do not come together to take the party from the claws of Akufo-Addo and his remnants, kick all the executives of the NPP and let the party restore its own tradition”.
His call comes after the NPP suffered an embarrassing defeat in both the presidential and parliamentary elections in the December polls.
