A New Patriotic Party (NPP) party agent has been arrested over alleged voter inducement.
According to the information gathered, the NPP agent identified as O Lord Otoo has been picked and has been arrested.
The incident is said to have happened at the Krowor constituency in Nungua when the NPP agent was trying to influence voters which is strictly forbidden on voting day.
In a video shared by KALYJAY the NPP agent, the police picked him up in their vehicle, taking him to the station to assist in investigation.
The information gathered is that the NPP agent gave out some money to some guys going to vote in the queue to induce them to vote for the NPP which generated some tension.
According to the NPP agent, he gave the money to someone who mobilized activities in the constituency.
The 2024 general elections are underway across the country as Ghanaians vote to decide their next president and parliamentarian for the next four years.
In total 18 million registered voters are set to decide the nation’s next president and the structure of the 275-member Parliament.
In total, 12 candidates are vying for the presidency, with the front runners being the NPP’s Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NDC’s John Mahama, Nana Kwame Bediako, and Alan Kyeremanten.
