The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) has announced the rescheduling of all National Lottery draws initially set for Saturday, 7th December 2024.
The move is intended to allow Lotto Marketing Companies, collaborators, stakeholders, retailers, and players to fully focus on the country’s crucial General Elections.
In line with the Director General’s authority under Regulation 21(1) of the Lottery Regulation 2008 (LI 1948), the NLA has confirmed that the National Weekly Lotto Draw, as well as all other draws planned for Saturday, 7th December 2024, will now take place on Sunday, 8th December 2024.
Additionally, due to the statutory public holiday on Friday, 6th December 2024, in observance of Farmers’ Day, all draws scheduled for that day will also be moved to Sunday, 8th December 2024.
This election, set for Saturday, 7th December 2024, will mark Ghana’s ninth general election under the Fourth Republic.
It is a highly anticipated contest, with former President John Dramani Mahama of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) vying for a return to power,
while Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) seeks to succeed President Nana Akufo-Addo.
