Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman has been crowned the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year.
He beat Achraf Hakimi of Morocco, Simon Adingra of Côte d’Ivoire, Serhou Guirassy of Guinea, and Ronwen Williams of South Africa to clinch the top prize.
He was presented with the award at a ceremony held by CAF in Marrakech, Morocco.
Lookman’s win follows in the footsteps of Victor Osimhen, who won the award in 2023, and other Nigerian legends like Nwankwo Kanu, Rashidi Yekini, Emmanuel Amuneke, and Victor Ikpeba.
The 27-year-old, who plays for Atalanta in Italy at the club level, was honored for his outstanding performances with both his club and the Super Eagles.
Ademola Lookman had enjoyed a fantastic year under review, being consistent across both club and national football, making the ultimate choice for the award.
The player’s form across all competitions has been one of exception as he had scored 11 goals and provided 5 assist with only 18 appearances.
