James Gyakye Quayson the incumbent Member of Parliament for Assin North has retained his seat in the 2024 elections.
Gyakye Quayson secured 18,023 votes, amounting to 56.35% of the total valid votes cast while his main opponent Charles Opoku of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), garnered 13,599 votes, representing 42.52%.
Provisional results from the 2024 general elections have started dripping in, as an early glimpse of the nation’s voting trends and new composition in parliament are being seen.
Ghanaians have voted to elect a president and 276 parliamentarians for the next four-year tenure.
The 18,774,159 voters cast their ballots at polling stations in all 276 constituencies in the 16 regions of the country.
