The National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives from the Ashanti Region led by the National Organiser Joseph Yammin, has once again intercepted supposed 1,015 bags of fertilizer in the house of Adansi North District Chief Executive (DCE), Eric Kusi Junior, at Kuna near Fomena.

According to the NDC Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer, Osman Nabali, the same intelligence that led them to the interception of over 10,000 fertilizers in an uncomplicated building at Sokoban and Danyame residential areas last week. Osman Nabali described the hoarding of the government-supplied fertilizers as unfortunate.

“We visited the site and confirmed that the fertilizers were hidden there. It raises questions about whether the house belongs to him, or another individual connected to him,” Nabali stated.

The NDC youth leader expressed disappointment over the alleged act, which he claims is part of a broader scheme by individuals in the outgoing administration to sabotage the incoming government.
“Instead of distributing these fertilizers to farmers as planned, they’ve hoarded them to sell at exorbitant prices later.
This is a deliberate attempt to make the new government suffer,” Nabali alleged

The Adansi North DCE, Eric Kwaku Kusi who spoke to the media confirmed the fertilizers were brought to his house for safe keeping by the Member of Parliament for Fomena Constituency who doubles as Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Andrew Asiamah two days before elections 2024.

He said “my MP told me the fertilizers were brought for his campaign activities, but it came late. So, he told me to keep it in my house after the elections he will come for it and later distribute it to the farmers. I called the MP so he spoke with the NDC security team that came here” he explained.

Responding to the accusations the Second Deputy Speaker, and member of parliament for Fomena Andrew Asiamah, confirmed the fertilizers belong to him, but declined to give further details.
