The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of orchestrating “planned intimidation and rigging” by the use of fake military personnel in tomorrow’s general election in the Ashanti Region.
During a press conference held today in Kumasi, the National Organizer of the NDC, Dr. Joseph Yamin, stated that over 200 individuals in military uniform were transported in vehicles lacking number plates to 34 constituencies in the region being led by the governing party.
Dr. Yamin alleged that this deployment is part of the governing party’s strategy to intimidate voters and manipulate the election outcome, emphasizing that the NDC is prepared to confront these actions with all its strength.
He urged the military command to uphold their integrity and professionalism, urging them not to allow themselves to be used by the ruling party.
Dr. Yamin also called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to demonstrate his commitment to ensuring a peaceful election, insisting that the fake military personnel should not be permitted to disrupt the nation’s stability.
