A social media user has reacted to a video of a Free SHS beneficiary who revealed she does not eat the free SHS food often because it makes her fall sick.
According to the X user, identified as Juliana Abane PhD, the nephew who was a strong boy returned to school now fragile and sick after school.
She noted that the NPP campaigning with the Free SHS policy shocks her looking at the challenges with the policy and parents with their wards in big schools across the country who are paying for food or buying food for their kids know the Free SHS is a hoax.
Speaking to the 3FM Sunrise mobile edition, the free SHS student said, “I often don’t eat it because I end up falling sick, sometimes the food is not that good, for instance when it is groundnut soup, I don’t eat it”.
Juliana Abane PhD full post on X reads, “My nephew is still sick after school. A strong boy we sent to school now appears too fragile. And that’s why campaigning with FSHS shocks me. Parents in big schools who are paying or buying food for their kids know it’s a hoax. Ghanaian parents are not demanding accountability”.
Meanwhile, Senior High School across the country continues to battle with serious food shortages, with reports suggesting students are being forced to eat the same meals up to three times daily.
