The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) has petitioned the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to investigate alleged corruption and corruption-related activities at the National Service Authority (NSA).
The petition, dated today December 4, 2024, follows months of investigation by the Fourth Estate, which has uncovered a troubling pattern of mismanagement and corruption at the NSA that reportedly costs the state millions of cedis annually since 2018.
Their correspondence to the OSP intercepted by class news, also includes evidence gathered by their team as attachments to the petition, detailing various corruption-related activities within the NSA
including Creation and use of thousands of fake student index numbers that are assigned to supposed graduates from various tertiary institutions,
Huge difference between figures of the total number of personnel eligible for deployment announced to the public by the NSA and figures it presented to Parliament,
and the Enrolment and posting of over-aged persons and Use of ineligible and fake ID cards for enrolment.
