Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Malik Basintale has issued a certificate of survival to the good people of Ghana.
In a humorous manner, Malik Basintale shared on his X page that Ghanaians had fought a good fight in surviving harsh economic hardships under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the last eight years, thus 7th December, 2016 to 7th December, 2024.
The text on the certificate read, “Certificate of Survival presented to all Ghanaians, in recognition of strength and resilience for the past eight years and navigating through adversity with courage of determination.”
The certificate had the picture of president-elect John Dramani Mahama and the NDC logo boldly centered on it.
Ghana’s electoral commission on Monday declared ex-president and main opposition leader John Dramani Mahama winner of Saturday’s presidential election with 56.55% of the vote, according to provisional results.
Mahama’s main rival, vice president and ruling-party presidential candidate Mahamudu Bawumia, already conceded defeat on Sunday in both presidential and legislative elections to ease tensions.
The electoral commission said it had counted votes from 267 out of the West African country’s 276 constituencies. Voter turnout was 60.9%.
