Following her defeat in the December 7 parliamentary elections, videos of the incumbent NPP MP for Okaikwei South, Dakoa Newman, resurfaced, and showing her distributing electronic appliances to constituents in a last-ditch effort to sway votes.
The footage, captured during the final days of her campaign, which is trending on X show the miniter for Gender sharing hair dryers to salon owners to help boost their work.

Social media Critics have pointed out that such actions, coming at the last minute, may have been viewed as a superficial attempt to buy votes rather than a genuine effort to address the community’s needs which backfired during the voting period.
