US based Ghanaian social media commentator; Kevin Taylor has alleged that Rev. Kusi Boateng is the owner of the 17 boxes of gold intercept by Ghana Police at the Kotoka International Airport.
According to Kevin Taylor, the pastor flew to Dubai prior to the shipping of the gold, as he was expected to welcome the gold in Dubai.
The Ghana Police Service however intercepted the 17 boxes of gold being smuggled to Dubai yesterday, December 17, 2024.
The smugglers were apprehended at the Aviance Kotoka Airport and the gold has since been transported to the Greater Accra Regional Police Headquarters.
In a post on his X page, Kevin Taylor wrote, “Kusi boateng I beg leave Dubai and come home wai na the gold was intercepted yesterday. The ofui took the lead to go wait for the gold in Dubai,” adding a couple of laughing emojis at the end.
The were reports of some 60 tons of gold being smuggled out of Ghana in 2020. This number keeps soaring annually.
