The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has shared why he visited his father’s grave before casting his votes.
John Mahama took some time to reflect at the resting place of his father, the late Emmanuel Adama Mahama, a former Member of Parliament and a significant influence in his life.
According to John Mahama, he just went to offer prayers at his father’s grave because of the battle ahead of him.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote, John Mahama stated, “I just went to say prayers, it is a tradition in our culture that if you are faced with a battle ahead, or some tough task or assignment it is a tradition to go to those who gave birth to you and go and pray and ask them to stand behind you”.
“And so, it is normal here on our part here, so my uncle Organised the prayers and they are Muslims, so they said Muslim prayers on the grave of my father”, he detailed.
The former president is contesting in the hopes of leading Ghana once again, with many watching closely to see the outcome of the election.
