A member of the National Democratic Congress communication team Beatrice Annan has revealed that the Electoral Commissioner chair Jean Mensa spokesperson are NPP communicators.
According to Beatrice Annan, Jean Mensa takes advice from people with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
She also claimed that Jean Mensa takes her legal opinion from the NPP.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana, Beatrice Annan stated, “Let’s not make it look like anybody is demonizing Jean Mensa, the NDC vigilant won the elections, we have not flip-flopped and all of a sudden started praising her because we won an election”.
“We knew the things; we were always going after them after their meetings. There is something I cannot say perhaps because of the oath of secrecy, but where Jean Mensa takes his legal opinion I know, the NPP people she takes her legal opinion from and calls, and as for direction on what to do next, even before she filed this application”, she added.
Beatrice Annan further detailed that it is not everything that can be said on TV, saying, “It is not everything we say on TV and so she knows, that is why she does not even deny some of the things and her spokespersons are NPP communicators”.
“The re-collation done by Afari Gyan was within a different legal regime, at the time there was no CI 127, and when Afari Gyan was doing re-collation, he did not do it to favor only the NPP”, Beatrice reiterated.
Meanwhile the Electoral Commission through an Accra High Court order has re-collated the Obuasi East, Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, Nsawam Adoagyiri, and Techiman South, which were previously declared in favor of the NDC have been re-declared for the NPP.
Two constituencies left outstanding are the Ablekuma North and Dome Kwabenya.
